New Texas Law Prohibits Cell Phones in Schools for Students
New Cell Phone Law – What Parents Need to Know
Texas House Bill 1481 goes into effect for the 2025-2026 school year, and it will directly impact how students use cell phones in all public schools in the state of Texas.
Under this new law:
🚫 Students are not allowed to use cell phones during the instructional day
📚 Schools must enforce policies that limit or prohibit device use
📵 Devices include cell phones, smart watches, non-school issued laptops/tablets and wireless earbuds/headphones.
Our school is reviewing and updating our campus policy to comply with this law. More details will be shared soon, but we wanted to give families a heads-up now so students can begin preparing for a more focused, less distracted classroom environment this fall. Parents, please begin discussing this new law with your child, to help prepare them for the 2025-26 school year.

JH Cheer Meeting
There will be a parent meeting on Monday, June 30th, to discuss JH Cheer. If your student wll be in Junior High next school year and would like to cheer next year, we ask that you attend.
If you have a Pre-K student that you wish to start school for the 2025-2026 school year and have not yet picked up a packet, please come by the Lueders office and pick up a packet. This will allow you to know whether or not there will be a spot available for your student.

Follow these easy steps to access your child's 2025 STAAR and EOC results through the Family Portal and discover helpful ways to support learning at home. • If you do not know your child’s UNIQUE STUDENT ACCESS CODE, click “How do I look up my access code?” The enter the following 3 pieces of information:
o Student’s First Name
o Student’s Social Security Number
o Student’s Date of Birth
• Click SEARCH, and your student’s ACCESS CODE will be displayed.

Attention Lueders Avoca HS Girls Basketball Players!!!!
At some point during the summer break we will be wiping out our Remind system and starting fresh. You may get texts or emails that say that you have been taken out of a class or added to a class. Please accept any invitations that you might get so that you will be able to be informed for the 2025-2026 school year. We hope that everyone has a great summer break.

8th Grade Graduation
Please join us for the Lueders Avoca FFA Banquet on May 20, 2025 at 6:00 pm in the Lueders Cafeteria. Come out and help us celebrate our amazing students and all their accomplishments this past year.
Thursday was a busy day at Lueders-Avoca HS. The Society of Physics Students at ACU came and put on an amazing demonstration. Ms. Trumbo made all this happen by asking ACU to come out!!! The 8th graders came over to experience Physics with us. Physics is a course we will be offering in the 2025-2026 School Year!! We are so excited about that!!!
Last night we had an outstanding turnout for the Academic/Sports Banquet. The 25-26 Cheerleaders provided the amazing decorations and the delicious meal. We greatly appreciate their continuous hard work and dedication to supporting the entire district as well as the individual sports teams!!!! Last night we recognized outstanding academic and athletic achievements, awarded letter jackets, and recognized our Class of 2025!! Thank you to all who came out and celebrated these amazing students!!!
